Invisible Mending

source
a recently completed patch - the threads just need clipped
The Invisible Mending technique, shown on Persian Gentleman, may be helpful to weavers who have a damaged piece they wish to repair.

Invisible mending is a sophisticated weaving method consisting in rebuilding the fabric of a garment but also of upholstery after an accident: snag, burn, accidental blade or scissor cut, etc.

Both the warp and weft of the fabric could have been damaged. Invisible mending is the reconstruction of both the warp and weft using a long needle.

The post includes photos of each step in the process.

Plastic Bottle Yarn Holder

source
This recycle project is a handy way to keep multiple balls of yarn from rolling around as you use them. The holders also keep the yarn in the order that you need to use them.

No directions are provided for cutting the bottles, but note that the hole cut in the long strip of plastic must be large enough to slip over the bottle opening, but not too large that it will slip off. Click the photo to enlarge for more detail.

If you try this idea, please leave a comment or send an email to the email address in the top right column.
